What is Aussie Rules?
Aussie Rules is the fastest open space game on grass.
It is also one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, due to its free flowing and competitive nature. Our game is adapted from the main 18-a-side, to make it much easier to grow in the UK.

4 Quarters of 20 minutes
9 players per side line up in three groups the forward, midfield and backline
Play is normally restarted with a ball up contested by the ruckman (taller blokes) who tries to hit it to a team mate
The ball can be punched (handballed) or kicked, but NOT thrown or passed
No offside law
A player may run as far as he likes with the ball, providing they touch the ball to the ground every 15 metres
A player who catches a kicked ball that has travelled at least 15 metres without anyone else touching it, is entitled to an unimpeded free kick
The aim is to kick the ball (untouched) between the two inner posts, for a goal, worth six points. This refers only to attacking team
If the ball travels between the outer and inner post (which includes striking an inner post) it scores a behind, worth just one point
A ball that passes through the taller posts in any manner other than a kick (i.e. handballed or run through) is a behind
A player can block, or shoulder charge an opponent in the chest or shoulder, provided they are within 5 metres of the ball, but NOT through the back of players
Full tackling is allowed as long as it’s above the knees and below the shoulders
Players must be within the forward zone to score a goal
Respect is shown to the umpire, who controls the game in a friendly manner, with sin bins and red cards at their disposal
Breach of the laws results in a free kick to the opposition
